Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here are the most common questions we receive from clients. If you have any doubts about Business Manager Visa, Startup Visa, or Company Formation in Japan, please refer to this page.

Q1. Is the initial consultation free of charge?

A. Yes, the first consultation is free. We also provide support via Zoom and email, so you can contact us safely from both inside and outside Japan.

Q2. What are the requirements for obtaining a Business Manager Visa?

A. Under the current system, the requirement is either capital of JPY 5 million or more, or at least one full-time employee. From 2025 (Reiwa 7), an amendment is expected, requiring capital of JPY 30 million plus one full-time employee. We recommend early preparation based on the latest information.

Q3. What is the difference between a Startup Visa and a Business Manager Visa?

A. A Startup Visa is a special program certified by local governments, allowing a preparation period of up to 1–2 years (depending on the municipality). Once your business plan, capital, and office are ready, you switch to a Business Manager Visa. Compared to applying directly for a Business Manager Visa, the Startup Visa offers more flexibility to prepare your business.

Q4. Can my spouse and children live with me in Japan?

A. Yes. Holders of a Business Manager Visa or Startup Visa can bring their family with a Dependent Visa. A spouse with “Permission to Engage in Activity Other Than That Permitted” can work part-time up to 28 hours per week. For full-time work, a change to another work visa status is required.

Q5. Do you provide support for clients outside Japan?

A. Yes, absolutely. We regularly assist clients from overseas using Zoom and email. All necessary documents for company incorporation and visa application can be prepared online, so you can start the process before coming to Japan.

Q6. What is the process from consultation to visa approval?

A. First, we offer a free consultation to understand your situation and goals, then propose the best visa option. Next, we proceed with company incorporation and document preparation, followed by submission to the Immigration Office. The screening period usually takes 1–3 months, but it may take longer depending on the case and season.
